How to Volunteer
Volunteer opportunities:
BOO Inc. hosts a variety of events throughout the year in addition to our annual haunted house. Volunteers may sign up to volunteer at any or all of the activities we have planned.
Opportunities include, but are not limited to:
- collecting donations and sponsorships
- helping with basket raffles, games and other activities at events
- merchandise sales at events
- assisting with event registration
- safety and security
- prop and set design and building
- costume creation
- marketing
- acting at various events (Easter, Haunted House, Christmas, etc.)
- security (monitoring cameras, escorting at haunted house, etc.)
- set up and tear down for events
- medical staff (proof of certification level required)
- parking attendants
- ancillary staff
- and more!
* A criminal history check is required for all volunteers ages 14 and older. Back ground checks can be obtained FREE OF CHARGE using the links in the drop down menu above. Current back ground checks that are less than one year old are accepted. Individuals who currently volunteer with a fire/EMS agency are categorically eligible.
Community Service: Building Outreach Opportunities focuses on bringing the community together. As such, our organization is listed with the Bradford County Probation Department as a registered 501c3 non-profit that will accept non-violent community service workers. We welcome persons from all walks of life and look at each individual person's history on a case by case basis. While certain crimes against persons may prohibit individuals from volunteering or completing community service, not all convictions are barrier offenses. Individuals who are completing community service for school, treatment court, or other programs that have voluntary or mandatory community service requirements are welcome to participate in all of our community events as volunteers or for community service as long as they do not have a conviction for a prohibited offense.
